Adoring Jesus, Loving People & Equipping the Church

What is Telecare?

Telecare is nothing more than a group of trained members of our church, called Teleministers, who dedicate themselves to calling each member on the church roll, to offer aid, encouragement and support.

What does a Teleminister do?

The PURPOSE of the Teleminister is to make loving, caring calls to each family, monthly, in order to determine the spiritual, personal, and physical needs of those they call. They affirm and encourage the member by sharing scripture, prayer, and something of themselves. They ask a simple question, "How can we, as a church, serve you?" God provides the needs of the members by matching the gifts of one member with the needs of another.

What is expected of those who are called?

Each person called is asked to return a call to Telecare at 373-1590 extension 16 with answers to prayer requests. They also share needs that may fall between monthly calls. Or, others call to share their gifts and become part of the resources of Telecare. There are those who call desiring to share furniture, clothing or other items with our sister church, New Beginning in God in Christ in Nashville.

What does it take to DO Telecare?

It takes a measure of spiritual maturity, the ability to keep confidences, an empathetic listener, someone who is dependable and trustworthy, and a person who is unafraid to disclose small parts of their inner selves to encourage and enable others to do the same. A good telephone voice helps, too. If you are interested please call Evelyn Collom at 373-1590 extension 16 to schedule an interview.
